A Lot for Every Season

Presenting a new creator group and our first download. This creator group sprung from Mentoring for Builders. We are a collection of members who build in TS2 and TS3 and TS4. We are comprised of novice builders, experienced builders, and everything in between. We share WIPs, tricks and techniques, and are here to lend a helping hand or appraising eye. If you love to build, check out our group: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=587151

These lots began as a simple idea- we wanted to make a festival lot on a smaller sized lot, to be able to fit in any town. We chose a 40 X 40 lot, and made a template for the "common" season. Then we decided that it would be great to add a series of four lots, one for each season, but lots that were base game only and did not require the Seasons EP. We took the same base lot, and envisioned how a community park would look in each season: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

The result is A Lot For Every Season (base game), a series of four base game lots. They were originally meant for players who don't have the Seasons EP installed, to mimic the changing of seasons in the base game. However, you can download them with or without Seasons installed, use one and swap it out from time to time, or place all of them in your town at the same time, or download only one or two and use them as standalone lots.

If you have the Seasons EP and are looking for a festival lot, please see A Lot For Every Season - Festival Grounds. This lot offers full festival functionality. It is not, however, identical to these lots. Build items must exist in all seasons, only buy mode objects can change with the seasons festival marker. So if you want the winter tent or spring pavilion or summer pool or autumn Halloween tent, please download these lots.

Each lot includes a lake for fishing and ice skating (if you have the Season EP installed). There is a picnic/ barbeque area with tables and blankets. There are a playground and restrooms.

Winter
When the weather turns cold, a festive tent goes up, to allow the community to meet and celebrate Winter. A Christmas tree is decorated, people play guitar, and friends gather around tables to chat and enjoy food and beverage.

Spring
In Spring the picnic tables return and the fish in the lake start biting. A pavilion is erected and the entire park is in glorious bloom.

Summer
When Summer arrives and school is out, the town puts up the swimming pool, plus a kiddie pool for the tots. For those who like to cool off without getting completely wet, there is a splash fountain for frolicking in.

Autumn
In Autumn the leaves begin to change. The town erects a Halloween tent. Sunflowers are on display, and the community garden is ripe for harvest.

------------------------------
There is 1 fish spawner in the pond. When you place or replace the lot, please check that there is still only one fish spawner. Unfortunately, they tend to multiply and can cause lag or fish popping up in unusual places. To check: enable "testingcheatsenabled true" and then "buydebug on". The spawners are white boxes. Check both at ground level and underground.

Heads up if you want to change and redecorate - some of the decorative objects on these lots were moved with the Decorator's Best Friend or NRaas Debug Enabler. If you pick up something it might not be easy to replace it in the same spot again.

No CC is included or required

Optional decor items from the free holiday sets and free world Riverview, from the TS3 store:

Lot Size: 40x40
Lot Price (furnished): 34455-58019
Lot Price (unfurnished): 20515-28022

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Thank you all. You guys are awesome. I love the Lot For All Seasons - especially the lot that has a toddler pool. I failed miserably trying to build one some time back.

It'd be great if you could also make a Seasons friendly one using the Seasonal lot markers that change on their own.

I'm confused why you would take the time to have 4 separate seasonal lots to be used without Seasons because without Seasons, there is no weather and it's always the same season!

I do not have Seasons installed yet (reasons), so I love that the lots still give the feel of being that season it is portrayed to be. You guys did a fantastic job on this lot and I love, love, love it. Thank you for sharing the amazing collaboration!

Edit: I also had no clue there were so many hidden(?) freebies on the Sims 3 Store?! Thanks for pointing them out! :lovestruc

I thought this was one lot with the festival markers for it to change every season? They all look so beautiful for my game but it'd be weird to have a summer lot when it's winter and vice versa, maybe I could place a festival lot marker on the lot and set it for one season? Just seems very fiddly to me. Maybe best to wait for the festival edition if that is the edition with one lot to be placed in the town?

Would it hurt so much to read the description guys? This lot is clearly for people WITHOUT the seasons ep to enjoy a bit of seasons in their BASEGAME. Good job btw

A seasonal version is in the works and will be uploaded soon. Players without the Seasons EP might appreciate a seasonal feel for their game, too. Maybe have a christmas party? Or a spooky Halloween outing? And even with the Seasons EP installed, you still can use either of the lots as a park. They just don't work as festival lots.

No, this download offers a series of four lots. I updated the description to make it more clear. But of course you don't have to install them all. You can choose only one and use it as a park. Or you install them all and swap them per season. A seasonal version featuring a single lot with seasonal functionality is in the works and will be uploaded soon.

Hope this makes it more clear

The roof on the winter lot and the roof on the spring lot were done with the builder cheat code CFE. Nothing is required for them to look as they do in the picture- download and enjoy. Also, if you check the TS3 store in the holidays and gifts section, 13 out of the 16 sets listed there are free.

I started a game in St Claire and there wasn't a festival grounds, so I deleted a park to put one in and it wouldn't let me. So then I deleted the lot and it wouldn't let me put a 50x50 lot in again, so I had to do a 40x40. Anyway so THANK YOU. This solves my problem of needing a smaller festival grounds for my world.
